Governor's Christmas tree honors members of military (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) Susan Wallsch pulled two small ornaments out of their boxes Tuesday and hung them on a Christmas tree in the governor's mansion. It was the third tree she's trimmed this holiday season, but this evergreen has a special meaning - her two ornaments along with about 150 more are dedicated to Wisconsin military members.

Holiday Tours Begin Dec. 4 At Wisconsin’s Executive Residence (WISC-TV Madison) MADISON, Wis. -- The public holiday tours of Wisconsin's Executive Residence will begin Dec. 4. Each guided tour lasts about 30 minutes and includes a brief history of the Executive Residence.

Wisconsin deer registrations down 20 percent (Pioneer Press) EAU CLAIRE, Wis. --Deer registrations statewide are down about 20 percent from last year, according to a preliminary count at deer registration stations across Wisconsin conducted by the Department of Natural Resources.

It includes two nights in a deluxe cottage and dinner at the property's lakeside restaurant.

Jumping silver carp discovered in Wisconsin waters (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) The super-sized cousin to the common carp was discovered late last week in Wisconsin waters of the Mississippi River. It is the first time silver carp, one of four species of Asian carp, have been confirmed in the state, according to the state Department of Natural Resources.
