 Since 1845, by act of Congress, the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November is the date for choosing presidential electors. State elections are also generally held on this day. Fall general elections will be held November 7, 2006. Jefferson County Elections & Voting Details All polls open at 7:00 am. All polls close at 8:00 pm. All polling places are accessible to the elderly and disabled.
